2022-2023 School Year
It is my honor and pleasure to serve as the Locust Grove Middle School principal. This marks my seventh year in this position and my tenth year at Locust Grove. I am excited to take on the new responsibility of serving as Locust Grove's Assistant Superintendent. LGMS will continue to be my priority, I will also be focusing on district initiatives and improvements. In order to do this, we welcome Valerie Wolf back to Locust Grove. Valerie will be serving as the assistant principal at LGMS, and will also help with federal programs at the district level.
At Locust Grove Middle School, it is our goal to offer a comprehensive middle school experience. We believe we are responsible to teach students more than just reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. We feel that teaching them how to think critically and work collaboratively with others, even when they disagree about something, is equally as crucial to their future success in our global society.
Locust Grove Middle School faculty work as a “Professional Learning Community” (PLC). Within this construct, all teachers work together as a team to look at all students’ data per subject area and make decisions about how they will teach the Oklahoma Academic standards in a differentiated way that will meet the needs of students who are performing at all levels academically.
The District has supported this level of collaboration by building in daily time at the secondary level in order for all teachers to work as a PLC by content area. If you are interested in learning more about this, please visit this site.
Parents are an integral part of helping us in student achievement. We will keep parents apprised of activities through notes, email, and facebook. Further, it is our goal to return to an occasional “Pastries with the Principal” to support open communication with parents and guardians.
I have enjoyed getting to know all students, staff, and parents over the past six years and together we have made many changes that have positively impacted our school.
Please feel free to email me directly, call the school, or stop by the school anytime if you have questions, suggestions, or concerns.
Warmly,
Jamie Hall
