About Me

Education

Educational History:

I graduated from Locust Grove High School in 1997.  After high school, I attended the University of Tulsa and graduated with a B.S.B.A. in 2001. In 2015 I began my pursuit of becoming an educator and was hired by my alma mater for the 2015-2016 school year.  I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Education with a certification in School Counseling.

Certificated in Business Education, Technology Education and Middle School Science

Professional Development:

Due to my Alternative Certification status, Professional Development is a major part of my career. However, the list is too long to list on this page.  The latest PD I participated in was Advanced Placement Institute at the University of Tulsa.

Current Position:

I began teaching at Locust Grove Middle School in August of 2015.  I am currently teaching 8th Grade Science. 

Previous Position:

The 2015-2016 school year was my first year as a teacher; however, my past experiences have greatly enabled me to be the teacher I am today!  I previously worked in Veterinary Medicine, the financial industry and stock market, and was a federal employee for the United States Postal Service. 

Family Information:

I graduated from Locust Grove High School in May of 1997 and married my husband in July of 1997. He also graduated from Locust Grove High School in 1994.  We have 2 daughters one born in 2005 and one in 2008. 

Personal Information:

My personal life is filled with making memories with my family.  I like to travel and be outdoors.  I also hunt birds and shoot skeet. I am a “jack of all trades” and stay busy all of the time!
